Primates and Big Game Safari

DAY 1: Arrival

On arrival you will be picked up our Ugandan side representative who will transfer you to your place of accommodation.

Dinner and Overnight at either Protea Hotel for up market (BB), The Boma Hotel for midrange (BB) or Central inn for budget (BB).

Ngamba

DAY 2: Ngamba Island - Kampala

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the Water Front at Entebbe where you will take a boat ride to Ngamba Islands (23km) from Entebbe to visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Upon arrival at Ngamba Island, you will be welcomed by the duty caregiver of the Chimpanzees. Pre-arranged supplementary feeding times (11:00 am & 3:00 pm each day) brings the chimpanzees with in meters of the raised walk way specially designed for easy viewing and provides excellent photographic opportunities. After having lunch you will take a boat ride back to Entebbe. In the afternoon you will go for a visit to the Uganda Wildlife Education Center and later on get transferred to Kampala for dinner and overnight.

Ngamba

DAY 3: Kampala - Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast at your Hotel in Kampala, you will be met by our guide who will transfer you to Fort Portal town. The journey will take you through the lush green countryside on Mityana- Mubende road to Fort portal and stopover at some coffee holdings tea plantations and open swamp valleys. In the afternoon you will visit the crater region and then in the evening, transfer to Kibale Forest National Park for dinner and overnight stay.

Kibale

DAY 4: Kibale Forest - Queen Elizabeth National Parks

After breakfast, you will head to the Park headquarters at Kanyachu for chimpanzee tracking briefing by the Park Rangers. You will then head into the forest for a Half day search of chimpanzee. The guide will provide detailed explanations, not only on primates, but also on all the forest fauna and flora and will ensure that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. You will return to your lodge for lunch and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: Kyambura Gorge - Kazinga Channel

After an early breakfast you will head out to the Kyambura Gorge for Chimpanzee trekking. After trekking you will return to your lodge for lunch and then go for an afternoon boat trip on the Kazinga channel for game viewing and Bird watching.

Dinner and Overnight at either Mweya safari Lodge for up market (FB), Bush lodge for midrange (FB) or Simba safari camp for budget (FB).

DAY 6: Game Drive - Kampala

Begin your day with a cup of coffee. Early morning game drive along Kasenyi tracks via the channel track where visitors may encounter elephants, buffaloes, water bucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs lakes and a variety of birds. Return to the lodge for breakfast and transfer to Kampala for dinner and overnight.

DAY 7: Departure

After breakfast you will be picked up by the guide and transferred to the airport to catch your flight

The pearl of Africa has a very strong cultural heritage well-endowed with different cultural and historical sites, diverse landscape encompasses the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains and immense Lake Victoria. Its abundant wildlife includes chimpanzees as well as rare birds. Remote Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a renowned mountain gorilla sanctuary. Murchison Falls National Park in the northwest is known for its 43m-tall waterfall and wildlife such as hippos. Without doubt one of the world’s greatest wildlife experiences is the thrill of a close encounter with the reclusive mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Uganda has the best chance of viewing these delightful apes with the fact that it boasts two parks where they have been habituated for human.

Visas

A Ugandan Visa may be applied at a consular, high commission or Embassy of Uganda in your home country or on arrival at Entebbe International Airport, Uganda – our major entry point as long you have your credentials and a few of the following vaccinations (most of which are optional)

You can acquire a visa at Uganda's High Commission or Embassy in your country of residence or on arrival at Entebbe International Airport, if you travel with all your relevant documentation and identification. East Africa Tourist Visa

The East Africa Tourist Visa will allow travel between Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda with the same multiple entry visa. This visa is the result of a joint initiative made by the Heads of States of the respective partner countries to boost regional travel and create opportunities for tourists to explore the diversity of East Africa. Travelers from any country can obtain a multiple entry visa that will allow entry to the Republic of Kenya, the Republic of Rwanda, and the Republic of Uganda for tourism over period of 90 days.

  • o Eligible Person: Tourist, no restrictions on country of origin
  • o Dependents: All persons must apply in their own right.
  • o Travel Documents: All tourists must have an official and genuine international passport, valid for not less than 6 months from the time of visa application.
  • o Visa Fees: 100 USD per visa
  • o Validity of Visa: 90 days
  • o Single of Multiple Entry: Multiple entry to all three countries
  • o Work or no Work: Work is not permitted
  • o Visa Extension: An East Africa Tourist Visa shall not be extended
  • o Country of Entry: The holder of the East Africa Tourist Visa shall enter the region from the country that issued the visa and move within the two other countries without applying for another visa or paying another visa fee.
  • o Movement of persons: The holder shall also be allowed to move out of the Republic of Kenya, the Republic of Rwanda, and the Republic of Uganda and return without having to pay for another visa.   • Yellow Fever Certificate

    Yellow fever vaccine is essential. Hepatitis A and B, Mengitis, tetanus and typhoid are also recommended if you expect to get closer to wild animals.
